How to treat tea stains

Drinking tea is an enjoyable and healthy habit, especially if it’s accompanied by a good read. However, if you’re not careful, the stains can be quite unpleasant for the eye.

When the stain is on your clothes:

Rinse the stain with warm water and soap or detergent, following the instructions of the label. For old or persistent stains, you should soak your piece of clothing first.

When the stain is on your carpet:

To get rid of the stain, use a cold damp sponge, then carefully shampoo the carpet.

When the stain is on your upholstery:

Remove the stain with a sponge and a mild detergent, rinse thoughtfully and dry, using a cloth or a  hair-dryer.

In every case, always read the manufacturer instructions if there are any, before you do anything. Then proceed with a small test patch. If any doubt, consult a professional cleaner.
