Hammersmith and Fulham households book domestic cleaners by the hour, £23 for a weekly visit and £24 for a fortnightly one, with 3 hours the shortest booking, so a weekly clean starts at £69.

Nearly half the borough’s housing (48.1%) predates 1900 on Valuation Office counts for 2025, and 55.7% predates 1919; homes from 2000 onward come to 16.3%. At the 2021 Census one household in four (24.5%) lived in a flat in a house that had been converted or shared, and almost half (48.1%) in a flat in a block, leaving terraces at 18.8% and semis and detached houses at under 6% between them.

Victorian conversions and the hours they take

A converted flat in a Victorian terrace often means one bathroom, a shared front door and stairs up to the flat. 3 hours a week, the minimum, keeps a one or two-bedroom flat like that in order; a whole terraced house over three floors needs four to five. The first visit is a trial at the £26 hourly rate, and the regular rate follows from the second.

Regular visits run on your own kit: a hoover, a mop with its bucket, cloths and whatever products you prefer. If the flat is at the top of the house, keep them up there too. Thames Water’s lookup puts W12 8EG in its Chiswick & Hammersmith zone (2025 mean 274 mg/l) and SW6 1ES by Fulham Broadway in its Hurlingham zone (mean 256), both in the band it calls hard, so a limescale spray belongs in the cupboard. The cleaner can be paid on the day, or you can take a monthly invoice from the office, and there is no deposit.

Selective licensing streets and moving out in Hammersmith and Fulham

Private tenants make up 36.4% of households here, a bigger group than owners (32.1%). The council’s current landlord schemes began on 5 June 2022 and run for five years. Shared homes anywhere in the borough with three or more occupiers from at least two households need an additional HMO licence. Selective licensing now covers only 24 streets, down from 128, Wood Lane, New King’s Road and Askew Road among them.

A move-out from a one-bedroom flat costs £207, and from a two-bedroom flat £243, because end of tenancy cleaning is priced by the size of the home, never by hours. The crew carries its own equipment and products, and you pay half up front to hold the date. For a top-floor conversion, mention the floor on the call so the team can plan the carrying.

Visitor and trader permits for a cleaner in Hammersmith and Fulham

A resident in a controlled zone gets a visitor permit free, valid only in their own zone, and pays for each visitor session through RingGo by the hour, priced by the car’s CO2 band. In most zones up to five visitors can be covered at once. Zones A, B, C and E never switch off during the day: they are controlled seven days a week from half past eight until 11pm. Many other zones are controlled only from 9am to 5pm on weekdays, and the council makes no parking charge outside a zone’s controlled hours.

Anyone can also buy an all-day trader permit, which lets a tradesperson working for a resident use a shared-use bay close to the job on weekdays from 9am to 5pm, for one vehicle, though a space is not promised. Regular cleaners travelling by Tube or bus avoid all of this. For a deep clean or move-out team that drives, the parking it pays for comes back to you at cost, capped at £40.

Domestic cleaning in Brook Green

Brook Green has the highest private renting of the areas on this page, 43.7% of households, and nearly a third (31.9%) live in converted or shared houses. Its streets are mainly Victorian townhouses, with shops on Blythe Road and Shepherd’s Bush Road. Among the mostly three-storey buildings round the green, the council’s profile picks out two red brick mansion blocks from the late Victorian years: Queen’s Mansions at No. 12, locally listed, dated 1896 and rising four storeys plus an attic, and the four-storey Phoenix Lodge Mansions.

Every private let on Shepherd’s Bush Road or Blythe Road, the two shopping streets, needs a selective licence until 4 June 2027. When a tenant leaves a mansion flat, adding the oven to the move-out clean is from £31, or £62 for a double. For people staying, domestic cleaning in a townhouse flat is 3 hours a week. W14 0LS sits in Thames Water’s Knightsbridge zone, with a 2025 mean of 273 mg/l.

Domestic cleaning in Fulham

Fulham’s five wards have more terraced houses than the borough as a whole: 25.7% of households lived in one in 2021 and 38.8% owned their home, though flats still make up 68.6%, a third of them conversions (23.6% of households). The council lists conservation areas across the district, from Bishops Park and Hurlingham to Moore Park, Walham Grove and Fulham Park Gardens. A three-bedroom terraced house with one bathroom takes four hours a week.

Craven Cottage changes the parking. On event days controls stretch into the evening, even on a Sunday or bank holiday: zone T until 10pm and X and Y until half past nine, all from 9am. Event-day pay-and-display stays are limited to two hours in T and an hour in the other two. Normal hours are 9am to 5pm, weekdays in T and Monday to Saturday in X and Y. A team that drives is easier to book away from an event day. Thames Water’s lookup puts SW6 6EP on Doneraile Street in its Fulham zone, which averaged 258 mg/l in 2025. Lets on Crookham Road or Dawes Road, like those on North End Road and Fulham Road, need a selective licence. Domestic cleaning in SW6 is a fixed weekly or fortnightly slot, with the same cleaner where we can.

Domestic cleaning in Hammersmith

Hammersmith’s three wards, Hammersmith Broadway, Grove and Ravenscourt, have 74.3% of households in flats, 21.9% in converted or shared houses, and the conservation areas in and around the centre include St Peter’s Square, The Mall and Westcroft Square. Thames Water’s lookup puts W12 8EG, in Grove ward, in its Chiswick & Hammersmith zone, with the highest mean of the zones checked for the borough, 274 mg/l in 2025. Expect scale on taps and leave a descaler out.

Hammersmith Bridge, Grade II* listed and built in 1887, closed completely in 2020 and reopened in April 2025 only to people walking, cycling, using wheelchairs or e-scooters. A cleaner on foot can cross it; a team in a car has to go another way. Lets on Talgarth Road, Dalling Road and King Street need selective licences. Some W6 addresses fall in Hounslow’s Chiswick Homefields ward, under Hounslow’s parking and licensing rules. Ironing can ride along with the weekly domestic cleaning as extra time that the office quotes on the phone, and separate ironing jobs go through the ironing service page.

Domestic cleaning in Parsons Green

Terraced houses are home to 43.6% of households in Parsons Green & Sandford ward, the top figure in the borough and more than double the borough average; 49.3% own their home. The Studdridge Street conservation area is mostly terraces built from 1888 by James Nichols, an Irish builder: broad streets, front gardens bigger than usual and terracotta lion finials, many painted white since. Sandilands Road, from the 1880s, has plainer artisan cottages.

A Studdridge Street terrace with three bedrooms and a family bathroom is a four to five-hour weekly visit, most of it on the kitchen, bathroom and stairs. The weekly cleaner wipes the hob and oven door, and the inside of a single oven is from £77 as a separate oven clean, done by hand at home. An Article 4 direction covers houses in Blake Gardens, Tyrawley Road, Musgrave Crescent and Favart Road. New King’s Road by the green (SW6 4XG) is in Thames Water’s Hurlingham zone, mean 256 mg/l. Domestic cleaners in Parsons Green work with your hoover and products.

Domestic cleaning in Sands End

Sands End is mostly new. Valuation Office counts put 55.9% of its homes as built from 2000 on; 61.7% of households had a purpose-built flat in 2021, and 4.6% were part-owners through shared ownership. Imperial Wharf stands on the former Imperial Gasworks site, and Imperial Wharf station opened on 27 September 2009, serving a district with no Tube stop. The ward runs along the Thames on the borough’s south-eastern edge, takes in Chelsea Harbour Pier and shares the SW10 postcode with Kensington and Chelsea.

Riverside block flats of one or two bedrooms take 3 hours a week; give the office the fob arrangement, any concierge arrangements and the flat number when you book. Sofas and curtains get their own clean: a two-seat sofa is £57, long curtains £42 a pair, with one-off work starting at £67, on the sofa and curtain cleaning page. Sands End has its own conservation area and the Imperial Square & Gasworks area, where Gasholder No. 2 is now Grade II*. Cranbury Road (SW6 2NP) is in the Hurlingham water zone, mean 256 mg/l. Domestic cleaning in SW10 is booked by postcode, so give yours on the call.

Domestic cleaning in Shepherd’s Bush

Terraces from the late 1800s, three or four storeys high and often split into small flats, fill much of the area west of the Green. In the three wards used for this section, 30.0% of households live in converted or shared houses. The Grampians on Shepherds Bush Road, with its shop units, is now listed at Grade II. Small flats in a divided terrace suit a fortnightly visit of 3 hours at £24 an hour, and after a change of tenant a deep clean, two cleaners at £28 each an hour plus £30, resets the flat first.

Round the Green, zone G applies every day of the year from nine in the morning to ten at night, except Christmas Day and Easter Sunday; pay-and-display stays are capped at two hours, and between 6.30pm and 8pm only permit holders may park. Woodstock Grove, Bloemfontein Road and Lime Grove are on the selective list too, as are Coningham Road and the big through-roads, Uxbridge Road, Goldhawk Road and Askew Road. Thames Water’s lookup puts W12 8AE on Uxbridge Road by the Green and W12 9QP on Vespan Road in its Shepherds Bush zone (2025 mean 259 mg/l). Give the office your W12 postcode and it will say whether a regular domestic cleaner is free.

Domestic cleaning in White City

The White City Estate, a council estate five storeys high, went up in the late 1930s and again after 1945, its street names taken from countries that appeared in the exhibitions once held there. Across the three wards used here, social renting covers 45.6% of households. Some 1,056 homes on the LCC’s Old Oak Estate, mostly small red brick cottages of two storeys put up in 1912 to 1913 and 1920 to 1923, sit in the Old Oak & Wormholt conservation area with the Wormholt Estate, planned on garden city lines from 1919.

A cottage on the Old Oak Estate is a 3-hour weekly visit, and an estate flat fits the same minimum. Television Centre on Wood Lane, sold by the BBC in 2012 and vacated a year later, is listed Grade II and has been redeveloped to include flats, offices, a cinema and hotels; for a flat there, give the office the building’s entry arrangements when you book. Australia Road (W12 7PZ) is in Thames Water’s Brent South zone at a 2025 mean of 268 mg/l. Wood Lane is a selective licensing street. Domestic cleaning on the estates depends on a cleaner being free nearby, which the office confirms.
